I know all of the parents reading the blog understand.... I seem to always be behind! Elijah is reaching an "interesting" stage. Perhaps it is the terrible twos early... but nonetheless, my blogging has become sloppy again. It is on my list every day to share with you the beautiful families I have met in the last few weeks but often it is at the end of the list and I am passed out asleep before the end of my list is complete!
My little guy is talking like crazy lately and he is making us so proud. Every day he loses a little baby and becomes more of a big boy. It is a constant struggle with me wanting him to do the next thing but also wanting him to stay a baby. I know others must understand. Baby-to-be Sarah is a kicker! She is much more active than her big brother. I remember Elijah would stop moving anytime I or anyone would touch my stomach but not Sarah. She seems to have no problem performing. Maybe I have a ballerina????
Ok, next post... some portraits!!

Strawberries!
Our family took a trip to Locust Fork to pick strawberries last Friday. I have to say it was the most fun I have had in months. Elijah "got" what this was all about. I fully expected to be chasing him around trying to pick a few strawberries but no, Elijah just knew what to do. Maybe he will be a farmer? He is already obsessed with tractors! Warning here are lots of pictures, I wanted to give you an idea of a fun day for us! Here is the strawberry story...
2 weeks old!!!

This beautiful mom is in my mom's group I meet with every week. I first met her when she was already very pregnant. We started talking about our shared love for Indian food and the fact we are pregnant at the same time. I learned her husband was overseas and he was hoping to be home for the delivery. Well, this sweet little girl came early and Dad didn't make it! She was the tiniest baby I have ever seen. When I heard that Dad was only going to be home for a few weeks I told her I HAD to take some portraits of them as a family while he is here. I am so blessed to be able to to capture this sweet family as they start out.
Baby girl slept almost the entire session and rested peacefully in Dad and Mom's arms. That is the way it should be! Thanks you guys for allowing me to serve you in this way!

A mother's day session...

Last week I had a session two daughters and their beautiful mother. We had planned a session at the Botanical Gardens but due to the free day at the zoo, this session was at their home. I am in love with the spiral staircase made of stone, BEAUTIFUL. It was almost as beautiful as these girls! I have had so many sessions with little ones lately that I had a great time with teenagers.
Me, in front of the camera!?!

Cory and I needed to get portraits of each other for our new website (coming in the next few weeks!). We headed down to Morris Avenue for a session with each other. In the last month, our little girl-to-be has really "popped" out of my belly so we did a few maternity while we were there. It was so weird to be on the other side of the camera but fun at the same time. Cory is a talented photographer so I knew he would get some great images. I am very happy with the results!

This family doesn't slow down!

I had a exciting session with a family of three boys a few weeks ago (I am running behind on the blog!). I had to be quick to get these portraits but I really enjoyed getting to know them. I asked the mom if things were always fast in her family and she laughed and said "yes". The best part about this family is the mom and dad just ran with them. We had a session of hide and seek and exploring the woods. It was great! The best part, one brother brought me flowers when I snapped the portrait above. Boys melt my heart!

Easter Best!

You may notice these beautiful faces from last year. The family signed up for a repeat session from last spring. I love when clients book again because it gives me a chance to see how much they've grown in the last year and I get to hang out with great kids! We booked this session after Easter so their dresses and suit would not get dirty. I think that is a great idea! I am so in love with the close up of the middle daughter. Her expression and the wind blowing her hair just takes my breath away! And check out the new teeth from the oldest son! He was very proud and so am I! How they have grown in just a year!
