Two pictures from my darling husband...

The night at Zoolight Safari, I gave the camera over to Cory. I wanted to just be a mom and enjoy the sites, so he was stuck with the camera! I did take one of him to prove he was there! I am so proud of him on train picture. The Zoo dresses up the train to make a Polar Magical Express (Or something like that). The train travels at the speed of light (well, not really but the picture makes it look like it does). Also, check out the water reflection in the second picture, so beautiful. The best part of the night was slowly walking around taking in the lights without rushing. We stood as a family, pointing out all the different lights on the lake to Elijah. It was a great night!

A change in the Blog!

After researching many other photographer's blogs, I have decided to add more personal stuff from our family in the blog. The reason we started taking pictures was to capture our family history and I think my loyal blog reading audience would love to be a part of that. So starting today, I will also share our family photos here as well as trying to keep my darling son's blog up to date also. You can call me on it when I start slacking!!!

Here are two pictures from our trip to Zoolight Safari. It is an incredible event at the Birmingham Zoo (one of our favorite places in Birmingham)!! Look how happy my little guy is seeing "snow" for the first time! And check it out, Elijah really IS an angel!

If I get more time, I will try to share more from our trip.

Ok, some exciting stuff coming up!!

We have some exciting things to share on the blog in the next few weeks. We had a wedding on New Year's Eve. I don't think we have ever shared the other weddings we have been a part of either. Plus, we have several sessions I need to share!

So stay tuned in! In the next few weeks, we will have new packages to offer our clients, a complete overhaul of our portfolio, some great new products including a handcrafted item that I know will be on every one's list for Mother's and Father's day this spring.

We are booking our Spring sessions now and the much desired Saturday sessions are booking up fast for March and April. If you are waiting on the Spring for family portraits, book now!

Beautiful...

We had our first senior session! This beautiful young woman wanted a session with her horse. There are many more pictures to share soon but I wanted to share the template we have been working on. We are hoping to get more seniors this coming year and we appreciate this senior willing to have some fun. We did three different locations during the session. She had to be tired by the end of the day! But I am very happy with the final session portraits. More to come soon!

So happy to serve...

This family is the son of the beautiful grandmother we did we last month. While we were at the session the mom of this family asked if we could have a session for her family. We started talking about dates and that is when she told me her husband was leaving for Afghanistan the following weekend. We met on Veterans Day and did a quick session before he left. It was my pleasure to capture this family and I am looking forward to the proofs making it to Afghanistan.

I want to take a moment to thank all the men and women who are serving us by being away from their families. It doesn't matter what you think about why they are there. They are serving us and our families and missing so much from home. Thank you to this family for giving me this opportunity. If anyone reading this knows of a family member leaving for the military and you would like a session, please contact us. It is what we can do to give back to you.

When a session gets a little crazy....

We had a portrait session for an extended family! 17 people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew! We all know that when family gets together things get crazy. This family was no different. I would love to be a fly on the wall at the holiday gatherings, I am sure there is a lot of laughter. The first portrait is my favorite, everyone loves the funny faces picture!

Now, I have a little time to share...

We still have a lot going on here but things are slowing down a lot here so I have some time to share some of the many sessions I didn't share from the Fall.

This first group is boy girl twins and cute as can be. They were up for a fun session and we had a blast. They loved each other too and it is always a treat to capture sibling love. It must be fun to have a built in playmate!
